How it is made
From clay to your table
01Thrown on the wheel
Each piece is shaped by hand, one at a time.
02Trimmed and glazed
Rims smoothed, feet turned, glazes mixed in the studio.
03Fired twice
Once to harden the clay, once to melt the glaze.
The glazes
Six glazes, mixed in the studio
Each one melts a little differently in every firing. That is why no two cups match exactly, and why we like them that way.
- TenmokuDeep brown that breaks to rust
- CobaltA blue that pools dark
- CeladonSea green, like glass
- ShinoCreamy white with orange flashes
- OatmealSpeckled and soft
- OxbloodA red that goes almost black
No two pieces are the same.
Small differences in shape and glaze are part of each piece. That is the point of handmade.

The studio is open to visitors on Saturdays from 11 to 16, inside the town wall in Visby. Seconds are for sale at a lower price.

Care, post and custom sets
Can it go in the dishwasher?
Yes, all our glazed pieces are dishwasher safe. The unglazed terracotta is happier washed by hand.
Do you post to the mainland?
Yes, anywhere in Sweden, packed in paper and wool so it arrives in one piece.
What if something breaks on the way?
Send us a photo and we make you a new one. It happens rarely, and it is never your problem.
Can you make a set for my restaurant?
Yes. Tell us what you serve and how many covers, and we will suggest shapes and a glaze.
